WaterID app support

Getting started

Today: choose your water goal, tap a usual amount to log a drink. Nearby: find public-source Canadian fountains or request your city. Play: choose Stages or Endless in Water Snake.

Fountain coverage

Fountain maps currently cover Canada. Listings do not guarantee current access, opening hours, water quality or working condition. Follow posted signs. Walking directions use Apple Maps and may lead to a mapped building rather than an indoor fountain. Outside Canada, water tracking and games remain available.

Request your city

Open Nearby → Fountain options → Request a city. Enter your city, optional region and country, then send your request. Your preference is saved privately against your app account, and WaterID’s authorized administrator can review city-demand summaries to plan coverage. You can update or withdraw your request from the same area. A request does not subscribe you to messages or guarantee a launch date.

Suggest a fountain

In Nearby, use the fountain suggestion option to choose a map pin, add fountain and facility information, and optionally attach a photograph. Avoid faces, personal information and locations you lack permission to share. Photos are resized and re-encoded without their original metadata before upload.

Your submission and photo are private to you and the authorized WaterID reviewer. The reviewer may correct and approve location and facility details before they appear on the public map. Your account identifier and photograph are not published.

Open Nearby → My suggestions to check review status or withdraw an unreviewed submission. Withdrawal does not immediately delete its photograph.

History, backups and account recovery

Drink history is stored on your device and entries older than 90 days are removed when the app runs. In Settings, connect Sign in with Apple for player-account recovery and choose whether to save a private cloud backup. Backups are manual. Avoid deleting the app when troubleshooting local history.

Reminders and friend alerts

Check WaterID’s reminder and friend settings, then your device’s notification settings. Focus modes and quiet hours can silence alerts. Optional workout reminders depend on Apple Health permission and when Health receives a recorded workout.

Games, ads and scores

Stages and Endless are separate modes. Internet access is required to sync rankings and use online friend features. Ad availability varies; an unavailable ad should not prevent a new game. A rewarded benefit is granted only after the ad provider confirms completion. Contact support if an ad does not close normally.

Manage or delete your information

• Local history and game data: use the deletion options in Settings.
• Player account and online community data: open Play → Rankings and choose account deletion.
• Private cloud backup: manage it in Account recovery.
• City request: Nearby → Fountain options → Request a city → Withdraw my request.
• Fountain suggestions: check review status and withdraw an unreviewed submission under Nearby → My suggestions. Account deletion removes private photos and unpublished submissions; approved public fountain records may remain without an association to your deleted account.
• Shared habit summary: turn sharing off in Friend settings.

Deleting the app does not by itself remove online account data. If you cannot access the account, contact support; ownership verification may be needed.
